-30 degrees.
It was amazing how cold some places got near whitemallow in the middle of a snowstorm. Even in the "off" season. It was beautiful, though: the gentle petal-like flakes of snow in the air carried by the wind, the blanket of puffy white snow that blanketed seemingly everything. It was as serene as it was tragic in a poetic sense. How could something so beautiful be so harsh?
In fact, the only reason Jack was able to stand this was thanks to his rather advanced "fullmetal' suit. He had never done a full artic test of its survival and enviormental control systems, hence why he was where he was. gently wading through ankle-high snow in a cold and hostile blizzard where few others dared to tread.
Jacks pokemon were eager: he could tell even before he set out that they had as much a craving for adventure at the same time he did. Arcanine in particular was oddly interested in the snow, its big and warm body very able to resist the elements quite well, even in a blizzard. While hail was a different story, perhaps Arcanine was an ideal candidate: Jack was glad he had brought that particular pokemon with him.
In tow of his team of 3 was his "Anchor" of sorts, Rhodes. A metagross with a jolly yet authoritative attitude, it was probably the most reliable mentor and backup for the third and final member of his current team, the current "newbie" of the group.
An adopted Clauncher.
Honestly, until he had adopted it from a daycare, Jack had never seen one in person: yes, he had reviewed its pokedex entry very thoroughly, but that hardly indicated what a pokemon was like or what it was capable was: sometimes you just had to use a pokemon to get to know it.
And that was the other reason Jack was here: to help the "new guy" in his roster get more acquainted with difficult combat. It wasn't an easy trial, fighting in such conditions, but Jack had faith in the little water-type. It had proven to be quite strong thus far, and jack had no reason to doubt it could help him catch a pokemon and help Clauncher grow closer to his teammates.
Still, as he wandered through the vastness of the ice, passing by a nearby frozen lake, Jack knew it might be awhile before he ran into anything.
And that perhaps only the strongest pokemon in the area would ever dare venture out in such terrible weather conditions.
POKEMON:
1. Clauncher (67)
2. Arcanine (67)
3. Metagross (70)
